New Committee Members For PlayerShare Fund

Aldershot Town’s hugely successful PlayerShare Fund welcomes two long-standing supporters onto its Committee in the New Year as one of the scheme’s founders moves on.

Keith Able and Ian Dawkins, of Hi-Speed Couriers, will be joined on the Committee by Darryl Evans, of Camberley-based Cennox PLC, and David Woolford, a partner at Aldershot’s P&W Insurance Group LLP.

Standing down is Nick Fryer, who has served Aldershot FC and Aldershot Town for 27 years in roles including Supporters Club Secretary and Press Officer.

Nick said: “I am very proud of what has been achieved by the PlayerShare Fund, and the signings we have made, including Jonny Dixon and Jermaine McGlashan, and others who have been sold on for fees. But now it’s time for me for step back and hopefully others can continue to provide the funds that have been very helpful to numerous managers.”

The Fund, which has contributed over £130,000 to the Club’s playing budget since its formation in 2007, has also provided valuable help with the signings of Dan Holman, Tristan Plummer, Jamie Young, Dean Morgan and Aaron Morris.

Aldershot Town are very grateful for their continued assistance, and thank Nick for his hard work.

The Club’s monthly Quiz Night, another part of the PlayerShare Fund, is looking for a new host in 2016 – if you can help, or want further details, please call us on 01252 320211 or email admin@theshots.co.uk with QUIZ HOST in the subject.
